The National Lottery Community Fund 2025
A great opportunity!We are so excited that we awarded nearly £10,000 from The National Lottery Community Fund this year. As a new charity set up in 2025, having funding for our projects is essential.
This money is being used in a number of ways. Firstly, we will use this money to set up five new regular meetings throughout England, and we will note those meetings on their meeting pages. This money also covers venue costs, printing, books, toys, and refreshments – all the little things that make a La Leche League meeting feel warm and welcoming.
Secondly, part of this award allows us to continue our photography project. This upcoming session will take place in the spring in Sussex, where we hope to work with partnering organisations to invite new parents to an LLL meeting set-up to take photos of them feeding their little ones. The parents will get a copy of their photos, and we will use these images to increase and improve representation in breastfeeding, chestfeeding, and human milk feeding online and in person.

Another important part of our project includes bringing LLL Collective together for the first time in London! We’re so thrilled to be able to meet face to face, build connections for our volunteers, and exchange hugs. We’ve achieved a lot by working online together, and this chance to meet will really help us improve our connections as an organisation.
Promoting breastfeeding and chestfeeding support is one of our key activities and this grant allows us to do more of that with an outreach event, promotion, and providing key materials such as the latest edition of our Art of Breastfeeding book.
Finally, but certainly not least, this award will allow us to build equitable and just systems for our internal workings together. Not only is inclusion at the heart of our breastfeeding support, but it’s also at the heart of our work together as an organisation. We’ve brought in Tripod to help us build bespoke working systems for LLL Collective and we’re so pleased to have this opportunity to do good internal work together.
