Grant Award for Edinburgh 2025

We are so pleased to say we have been awarded funding from The National Lottery Community Fund – Edinburgh for our project here in Edinburgh. This kind of award allows us as a new charity to expand our breastfeeding and chestfeeding support in the capital in a variety of ways, and we couldn’t be more excited!

First, this award will fund what we already have going on – our monthly toddler meeting in Buccleuch Free Church. As the only toddler breastfeeding and chestfeeding meeting in the city, we’re so pleased to be able to continue the warm community support this meeting is known for.

Next, we will be able to grow our support. With this funding, we will be able to set up a new baby-focused group in the city centre during the week. We will also be able to provide training to new breastfeeding counsellors in Edinburgh to grow our footprint and expand where our meetings are held. We’re so excited to run our first pilot programme of an in-person workshop series with this award, and off the back of that, with the support of this grant, will be able to set up new fully kitted-out meetings as well.

This grant also allows us to do some of the nuts and bolts of our work, such as covering the costs of volunteering and helping us advertise our services in order to expand our reach.

And very excitingly, this grant will allow us to travel to London in the summer of 2026 to meet with our fellow volunteer breastfeeding counsellors for the first time! We’re lucky to have a close-knit group of volunteers here in Edinburgh and it will be such a wonderful opportunity to connect in person with our counterparts in England.
